Nicodemus the Hagiorite (1748–1809) (Νικόδημος ὁ Ἁγιορείτης) was born on Naxos (that’s an island), had an abbreviated education due to Ottoman obnoxity, and matriculated at Dionysiou Monastery on Mt.
